Hinkle Law Firm establishes Topeka office with addition of attorney Scott J. Schneider to lead its Governmental Relations practice

Scott J. Schneider, a Wichita native with over twenty years of experience in government relations, has joined Hinkle Law Firm LLC. Schneider’s practice includes governmental relations and lobbying, and professional association representation and administration. His addition creates a new Topeka office for the firm and brings the number of Hinkle attorneys to 46.

“Scott is an outstanding addition to Hinkle Law Firm,” said Philip Davidson, the leader of Hinkle’s Litigation Practice Group. “Scott has built long-standing relationships with policy-makers, businesses and leaders in the economic development arena. Scott’s experience covers many of the current business sectors served by Hinkle. His knowledge in multiple industries including construction, healthcare, insurance, transportation, restaurant & hospitality, and energy will be valuable in helping the firm’s clients further their business strategies in the regulatory environment. He also brings key insight for businesses navigating the legislative process, both in the State House and on a national level.”

Previously, Scott had a private practice focused on governmental relations. He was, formerly, Director of Governmental Affairs for Cox Communications and Governmental Relations Director for the City of Wichita. He is a member of the Wichita and Kansas Bar Associations and serves as Executive Director of the Kansas Metro Business Healthcare Coalition. Scott will also represent the firm in numerous business-focused public policy and economic development entities.

“Hinkle is excited about the experience Scott brings to the firm and the opportunity it provides to our clients,” said Managing Member Michael Herd.

Scott and his wife Bridget have four daughters. A graduate of Friends University, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Washburn Law School in 2003. Scott also served in the Kansas and Texas Army National Guard from 1988-1994.

Hinkle was founded in Wichita, Kansas, and the firm’s growing Overland Park office and new Topeka location will continue to enhance its full-service legal practice throughout Kansas and Missouri. While Scott’s practice will keep him in Topeka during the legislative session, he will also maintain an office in Wichita.
