WICHITA, Kan. – Hinkle Elkouri Law Firm LLC has selected James C. Spencer and Brian L. White to member status. James C. Spencer, who has been with the firm since 2006, advises business clients on federal and state laws affecting employers, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, USERRA, COBRA, ERISA and Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. He also drafts employee handbooks and policies, executive contracts of employment and nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements. The focus of James’ practice is on offering practical insight and advice to help his business clients better manage their workplaces with respect to both employment law and employee benefits matters. He was admitted to the Kansas bar in 1996. He received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1996 and his B.S. in Business Administration from Kansas State University in 1993. Brian L. White, who has been with the firm since 2002, focuses his practice on civil litigation, with his primary concentration in the areas of construction disputes, medical malpractice, product liability and other personal injury litigation. Brian utilizes his experience to assist clients in complex multi-party construction defect litigation from the initial investigation through final appeal and has also served as second chair for complex medical malpractice trials. Brian was admitted to the Kansas bar in 2002. He received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2002 and his B.A. in Sociology and Justice Studies from Fort Hays State University in 1999. “Both James and Brian have shown great commitment to the success of their clients and have earned the respect of their peers,” said Mitchell Herren, managing member. “They each bring an indisputable combination of talent and experience to the firm.
