Hinkle Elkouri Partners with Benefits Management Inc to Explain Health Care Reform to Employers in Kansas
Sep 7, 2010 - News by Hinkle Law Firm
Tuesday, September 7, 2010
The Hinkle Elkouri Law Firm LLC will join with Benefit Management Inc. to explain how the new Health Care Reform law will impact employers. The sessions are designed for Kansas employers and are offered at no cost to business owners and human resources professionals seeking more information on the effects of the new regulations. Attorney Steven P. Smith will lead the sessions.
“As 2010 draws to a close, employers need to understand the new rules that will apply as various provisions of the new law start to take effect,” said Eric Namee, who is the head of the Hinkle Elkouri employee benefits group. “There’s a great deal of misinformation out there. We’ll explain the steps employers need to take before the end of the year to remain in compliance with the law.”
Topics that will be discussed during these sessions include the new “play or pay” mandates that apply to employers, the “grandfathered plan” rules, new government reporting requirements, new requirements for notices and disclosures to employees, and specific plan provisions that must be changed, including the “age 26” mandate.
