Employee Benefits Group Presents No Cost Health Care Reform Workshops for Kansas Employers

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Hinkle Elkouri Law Firm LLC will be conducting no-cost workshops for employers throughout the month of September, designed for business owners, human resources professionals and others who work with employee benefits. Attorneys Eric Namee, Steven P. Smith and Brad Schlozman will lead the sessions, which will guide employers through the decisions and steps necessary before the end of 2010.
“Now is an extremely important time to get up-to-date with the latest health care regulations,” said Namee, leader of the Hinkle Elkouri employee benefits group. “While health care reform was passed months ago, the actual regulations that concern employers have just been issued. In order to stay in compliance with the law, employers need to act prior to the end of 2010.”
Topics that will be discussed during these sessions include the new “play or pay” mandates that apply to employers, the “grandfathered plan” rules, new government reporting requirements, new requirements for notices and disclosures to employees, and specific plan provisions that must be changed, including the “age 26” mandate.
Due to demand for the sessions, seating for each date has been expanded to accommodate more guests. The seminars will all be taking place at Hinkle Elkouri’s conference center on floor 22 of the Epic Center in downtown Wichita, with dates as follows:

• Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
