Our Design Professionals Practice Group attorneys skillfully represent engineers, architects, and other design professionals with a wide array of legal challenges arising before, during and after project completion. We are members of the ACEC-Legal Counsel Forum, as an outside counsel member, and have working relationships with in-house and outside counsel at engineering across the country. We are able to draw from our experiences in representing engineers in business, regulatory, licensing, and administrative matters.
Our attorneys have experience with drafting and reviewing of Teaming Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Owner/Engineer Agreements, Design-Builder/Design Consultant Agreements, and Prime Designer/Design-Consultant Agreements. Hinkle Law’s Design Professional Practice Group attorneys also have experience working on complex projects, including Public Private Partnerships (“P3 Agreements”). During the study and report, preliminary design, administration, and post-construction phases, our Design Professional Practice Group attorneys are adept at understanding and offering insightful advice on recognizing, responding to, and resolving circumstances before they become claims.
In addition to providing sound legal services, our attorneys also have the ability to present in-house training and webinars on risk management issues ranging from contract review practices to claim handling.
In the unfortunate event when claims do arise, Hinkle Law is approved counsel for most of the professional liability insurers, which affords our clients a seamless transition between the pre-claims and claims process. We have successfully represented design professionals in mediations, arbitrations, and litigated matters involving complex, high indemnity matters in many states and jurisdictions.
