Trey Monts joined Hinkle Law in September 2025 after earning his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law, where he graduated with Dean’s Honors. He previously earned his bachelor’s degree
from the University of Texas at Austin.
During law school, he served as Senior Staff Writer for the Washburn Law Journal, receiving the GNIP-GNOP Award for best comment. He also gained practical experience advising clients in the Small Business & Nonprofit Transactional Law Clinic.
Before law school, Trey built a strong legal foundation at a law firm in Austin, Texas, supporting attorneys through all stages of litigation in both state and federal court. His broader professional background includes roles at the United Nations University in Dresden, Germany, and the Texas House of Representatives. Trey brings this diverse experience to his practice and is committed to delivering thoughtful, client focused advocacy.
