Mayda R. Stallbaumer joined Hinkle Law Firm LLC in 2025. Prior to her current role, Mayda clerked for the Hon. Eric F. Melgren of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, where she drafted opinions and bench memoranda in civil and criminal cases on a variety of legal issues across federal and state jurisdictions. She also clerked for judges of the Third Judicial District of Kansas in Topeka, where she prepared legal memoranda, drafted proposed decisions, and collaborated closely with judges and staff attorneys. Additionally, she gained valuable experience through the Dane Hansen Externship Program at a general practice law firm in
Western Kansas, where she assisted with both civil and criminal matters as a legal extern.

Mayda earned her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law, where she graduated with Dean’s Honors and a certification in Advocacy. During law school, she was an active member of the Washburn Moot Court Council, receiving the Top Brief Award in the Lester M. Goodell Memorial Intramural Moot Court Competition, and was inducted into The Order of the Barristers. She also earned Pro Bono Honors and participated in a range of experiential learning opportunities, such as the VITA Tax Clinic. She received her B.A in History, summa cum laude, from Sterling College, where she also minored in Political Science. While there, she was a student athlete, serving as Vice President of Student Government and a four-year member of the women’s basketball team, in addition to completing internships with Senator Jerry Moran and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum.
