Mr. Pohl focuses his practice in the areas of commercial real estate, energy law, and business/corporate law. His practice, which spans over two decades, has given him industry insight into the most efficient, cost-conscious, and effective resolutions for clients. Scott provides counsel not just when issues arise but gives proactive advice geared toward avoiding litigation and claim disputes altogether.
In commercial real estate, Scott assists clients in all aspects including acquisition, financing, sales, operations, and leasing matters. In the business/corporate law area, he assists with business formation, business operations, acquisitions, mergers, and sales. He has represented and continues to represent clients as to various types of businesses and real estate including hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, farmland, storage facilities, warehouses, and car dealerships. He has had the benefit of working with clients on matters throughout the United States.
In energy law, Scott represents and assists oil and gas operators with the development and administration of their leases and related business matters including performing stand-up title opinions, assistance with Kansas Corporation Commission matters, drafting and negotiating purchase/sale agreements, and negotiating various oil and gas contracts including joint operating agreements, easements, salt water disposal agreements, and gas purchase agreements.
A lifelong resident of Kansas, Scott received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law. Following law school, Scott gained valuable experience serving as Judicial Clerk for the Kansas Court of Appeals and Law Clerk to the Honorable John K. Pearson, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Kansas.
