Makaela Stevens joined Hinkle Law Firm LLC in August 2024 as an Associate Attorney. Her practice focuses on civil litigation, family law, estate administration and probate, and guardianships and conservatorships. She works closely with clients to guide them through complex and often highly personal legal matters with practical guidance and compassionate support.
Makaela assists with drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, and preparing cases for hearings. In her family law practice, she works on matters involving divorce, custody, and child support. She also assists clients with guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, probate and estate administration matters, and a variety of civil litigation disputes.
While earning her Juris Doctor, Makaela interned with several prestigious legal organizations. Her first internship was with the United States Law Library of Congress, where she conducted legal research and wrote blogs and story maps for publication.
In 2022, she worked for the District of Kansas’s United States Attorney’s Office, and in 2023 she clerked at Hinkle, learning about various practice areas and working closely with seasoned attorneys.
Makaela is a Scott City, Kansas native. When not working, Makaela enjoys reading, playing the piano, and watching K-State sports.
