Melissa Moodie has extensive legal experience across many areas of practice, successfully representing clients in health care and employment law matters. She routinely counsels clients with general health care and HIPAA compliance program inquiries and provides counsel to properly structure business relationships to comply with federal and state anti-kickback, self-referral, and patient privacy laws. In addition, she provides consultation to employers, helping them implement personnel policies, interpret federal and state employment laws, and provides representation for employers in federal and state administrative claims and civil actions filed against employers for claims brought against them for violations of federal, state and local discrimination laws. Melissa also assists businesses with general formation needs as well as contract negotiations and enforcement. She provides legal counsel in professional negligence claims that include medical malpractice and nursing home negligence.

Melissa was raised on a ranch near Alma, Kansas, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness with a minor in Economics from Kansas State University. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law with Dean’s Honors in 2005.  When not practicing law or serving her community, Melissa may be found spending time with her family, out running or playing a round of golf.
