It turns out that something as simple as accidentally checking the wrong box can lead to huge IRS penalties. Over the last six months, we have worked with numerous employers that have been assessed substantial “shared responsibility” penalties by the IRS arising out of their failure to properly complete the 1094/1095 health care reporting forms for the 2015 and 2016 tax years. Although we have had great success getting the IRS to back down from these penalties, no employer wants to be in the IRS’s cross-hairs in the first place. We will thus be offering a refresher course on how to properly fill out these forms in order to avoid costly IRS penalties.
Fortunately, virtually nothing has changed in the IRS’s 1094/1095 health care reporting requirements for 2018. So if you are confident in your ability to correctly complete and file your 1094/1095 forms, that’s terrific and we’re here to help if specific questions arise.
But, if you are an employer that is new to the health care reporting requirements, have an HR staff that is not entirely familiar with these complex rules, or simply feel you would benefit from a refresher course, we will be holding another participatory seminar on Thursday, December 13, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Who should attend?
Remember that all employers that are large enough to be an “applicable large employer” are subject to the reporting requirements, regardless of whether they offer health care coverage to their employees. Employers that sponsor self-funded medical plans are also subject to these rules, even if they are too small to be an “applicable large employer.” If you fall into this category and you are new to the health care reporting requirements, have an HR staff that is not entirely familiar with these complex rules, or simply feel you would benefit from a refresher course, this seminar may be for you.

$110 per attendee, including light refreshments and workshop materials.
